Label Code of Conduct

This is the whole point of the code, and it has no exceptions. A label on Get Signed does not ask an artist to pay anything to be signed, released or considered.

That includes, whatever it is called:

• submission, review or listening fees;
• a payment to be released, to be put on a compilation, or to keep a release scheduled;
• paid mixing, mastering, artwork, distribution or promotion sold as part of getting signed;
• a release “package”, “deal fee”, “contract fee” or “contribution to costs” paid up front;
• buying streams, followers, playlist placements or equipment;
• asking for a payment off Get Signed once you have made contact here.

Money moves from the label to the artist, or not at all. What a signed artist and a label agree about recoupable costs in a contract is their own business, and it is never a condition of being signed.

Your profile describes a real label with real releases. The name, location, genres, website, social profiles and store pages are yours and match each other. You don't present another label's catalogue, artwork or roster as your own.

We check all of this before a label can hear anything (see our terms), and we check again if something changes.

• Tracks sent to you are unreleased and confidential. You don't share, re-upload, sample or play them publicly, and you don't pass them to anyone outside your label.
• You use a track only if the artist has agreed in a signing. Passing on a track means it is over; it doesn't become yours.
• You keep it civil. No harassment, no abuse, no pressure, and nothing about an artist's age, gender, race, religion, disability or sexuality.
• If you mark a track as signed here, a real agreement exists. Get Signed records the outcome; the deal itself is between you and the artist.

Artists spend credits to reach you, so a submission deserves an answer, even a short one. Pass on what isn't for you rather than leaving it waiting.

Artists can see how many of the tracks sent to you you listened to and how quickly, and they can rate you after a conversation ends. If you don't open a submission within 30 days, the artist's credits go back to them.

Any artist can report a label from a conversation or its profile, and “asked me for money” is its own reason. A confirmed report that a label asked an artist for money means the label is suspended and its verification withdrawn. Other breaches can mean the same, or a review that takes the label off Get Signed until it is sorted out.
