Terms of Service

The rules for using Get Signed, for artists and labels alike. We've kept them as short and plain as we can; please read them before you create an account.

1.About Get Signed and these terms

Get Signed (get-signed.com) is run by Get Signed LLC, a New York limited liability company (“we”, “us”). Our address is 45 Main St STE 240 #657591, Brooklyn, NY 11201, United States, and you can reach us at support@get-signed.com.

Get Signed is a platform for electronic dance music only. Artists send finished, unreleased tracks to record labels, directly or through genre pools, and labels contact the artists they want to talk to. Any deal happens between the artist and the label, outside Get Signed.

These terms are the agreement between you and us whenever you use Get Signed. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information, and our Refund Policy explains refunds; both are part of these terms. By creating an account, you accept them.

2.Who can use Get Signed

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • An artist account is for one artist; a band or group shares one account. A label account is for one record label.
  • The information you give us must be true and kept up to date. Your legal name (for artists) or your contact person's name (for labels) is private: it never appears on your profile.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
  • You may not open an account to get around a suspension, or open extra accounts for more credits.

3.Labels

Labels use Get Signed free of charge.

Code of conduct

Every label account accepts our code of conduct. A label never asks an artist to pay to be signed or released: no fees for mixing, mastering, promotion, a release package or anything else. A confirmed report that a label asked an artist for money leads to suspension.

Verification

A label can hear tracks, use its inbox and the genre pools, and contact artists only once we have verified it. We check that you run the label, that it releases music by artists other than its owner, that its website, social profiles and store pages match its profile, and that it shows no signs of charging artists. A label whose sign-up email is on its own website's domain is verified at once and checked within seven days. We may ask for more information, refuse verification, or withdraw it later, and a label without verification is hidden from artists.

What artists see about you

Your profile shows how many of the tracks sent directly to you you listened to, and how quickly, and the average rating artists gave you once you have at least five ratings. Artists see which labels listened to or passed on their tracks.

Inactive labels

A label that doesn't use Get Signed for 60 days is hidden from the label directory and can't receive tracks sent directly until it uses Get Signed again.

4.Your tracks

What you promise when you upload

  • You own or control every right needed to upload the track and let labels hear it, including the rights of co-writers, producers, featured artists and any samples.
  • The track is unreleased.
  • The track contains no AI-generated sounds and is not entirely AI-generated.
  • The details you give (title, credits, genre and the rest) are accurate.

You keep your rights

Your tracks stay yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store your files, to make a streaming copy and a waveform from them, and to stream the track and show its artwork and details to the labels you send it to, to labels browsing its genre pool, and to anyone who opens a shareable link you create. We use this licence only to run Get Signed, and it ends when you delete the track.

Streaming only

Nobody can download your original file from Get Signed: labels and link visitors can only stream it. We can't stop someone recording what plays on their own device, so tell us if you think a track of yours has been copied.

Limits

  • The free plan holds up to 3 tracks; Artist Pro has no limit. Files can be WAV, MP3, FLAC or AIFF, up to 200 MB.
  • A track can't be edited once you have sent it anywhere.
  • You can delete a track as long as no label has an open conversation with you about it.

Signed tracks

When both sides confirm a track as Signed, it disappears from every other label. Their open conversations about it close, without naming the label that signed it.

5.Sending tracks

  • Sending a track to a label costs 5 credits. A track can be sent to each label once.
  • Sending a track to its genre pool costs 2 credits. A track joins its pool once and stays there until it is signed, hidden or deleted.
  • Credits back: if a label hasn't opened a track you sent it within 30 days, its 5 credits come back to you. Opened means the label listened to it (for 30 seconds, or marked it as listened), passed on it or contacted you about it. Pool submissions aren't covered.
  • Labels decide what they listen to. Nobody can pay to be placed higher: pools are ordered by date and the label's own filters.

We don't promise that any label will listen, reply, give feedback or sign you. What we do promise is that you can see which labels listened to your track and which passed.

6.Plans, credits and payments

Plans

Artist Free includes 10 credits a month and up to 3 tracks. Artist Pro is a monthly subscription with a larger monthly allowance of credits, unlimited tracks, shareable links and credit packs. The current prices and allowances are on our pricing page, in US dollars.

Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes payment, charges any sales tax, issues invoices and handles refunds. Paddle's buyer terms also apply when you buy.

Subscriptions

  • Artist Pro renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your settings.
  • After you cancel, Artist Pro continues to the end of the period you paid for, then you move to Artist Free.
  • On Artist Free, only 3 of your tracks stay visible to labels. You choose which; if you don't, the 3 newest stay. The rest are hidden until you upgrade again. Open conversations carry on, your shareable links keep working, and you keep your credits.
  • We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription, so you can cancel first.

Credits

  • Free artists receive their allowance on the 1st of each month (UTC); Artist Pro members on each renewal. A new artist receives the current month's allowance on signing up.
  • Unused credits roll over with no limit, and purchased credits never expire.
  • Credits have no cash value. They can't be sold, transferred to another account or exchanged for money.
  • Apart from credits back, spent credits are not returned.
  • All unused credits end when your account is deleted.

Credit packs

Credit packs are for Artist Pro members. The credits are yours as soon as you pay. At checkout you agree to that, and, if you live in the EU, EEA, Switzerland or the UK, you acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel the purchase. See our Refund Policy.

7.Conversations and deals

  • Only a label can start a conversation about a track. Messages are text only; links show as plain text. Messages can't be edited or deleted.
  • Offers, contracts, payments and releases happen between the artist and the label, outside Get Signed. We are not a party to any deal, we don't act as anyone's agent, manager or label, we don't review contracts, and we take no share of any deal.
  • A track counts as Signed only when both sides confirm it. If the other side doesn't answer within 30 days, the conversation closes as Unconfirmed. Choosing Not Signed, or archiving a conversation, closes it as Not Signed, even if a contract was signed outside Get Signed.
  • Closed conversations are read-only, and only our support can reopen one.

Before you sign anything, check the label and the contract, and get independent advice. Never pay a label to be signed or released, and report any label that asks you to.

8.Rules for everyone

On Get Signed, you must not:

  • harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or pretend to be someone else;
  • ask artists for money, or run any other scam;
  • upload tracks you don't have the rights to, or tracks made with AI;
  • record, download, copy or share other people's tracks outside Get Signed;
  • use contact details you found on Get Signed to send spam;
  • collect data from Get Signed by automated means, or interfere with its security;
  • get around plan limits, credit costs or any other rule of the platform.

You can report a track (AI-generated, stolen or offensive) or a user (a scam, harassment, or asking you for money), and you can block a user. Blocking closes your open conversations with them as Not Resolved.

10.Suspension and closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in your settings. Deleting it cancels any subscription, closes your open conversations as Not Resolved, ends your unused credits and deletes your personal data and files as our Privacy Policy describes.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the label code of conduct, puts other users at risk, or that the law requires us to close. We will tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. A suspended account can't sign in, and its open conversations close as Not Resolved. You can ask us to review a suspension at support@get-signed.com.

11.Changes to Get Signed and to these terms

We keep improving Get Signed and may change it. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies, unless the law or your safety requires it sooner. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account before it applies; using Get Signed after that means you accept it.

12.Who is responsible for what

What we are responsible for

  • Running Get Signed with reasonable care and skill, and fixing problems as quickly as we reasonably can once we find them or you report them.
  • Keeping your original files private: nobody can download them from Get Signed.
  • Protecting your information as our Privacy Policy describes, and telling you about a breach that affects you as the law requires.
  • Applying the rules these terms describe: credits, credits back, label verification and the code of conduct.
  • Giving refunds as our Refund Policy describes.

What we are not responsible for

  • Deals between artists and labels. Offers, contracts, payments and releases happen outside Get Signed, between you and the other side.
  • Whether a label listens to your track, replies or signs you.
  • What other users do. We verify labels and act on reports, which lowers the risk of dealing with a dishonest label but can't remove it.
  • Get Signed being unavailable or making mistakes now and then. We provide it as it is and as available, and we fix what goes wrong.
  • Indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost opportunities or a deal that didn't happen, as far as the law allows.

The most we can owe you

If we do cause you a loss, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.

What you are responsible for

If someone makes a claim against us because of a track you uploaded (for example, one you didn't have the rights to) or because you broke these terms, you cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or takes away your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

13.Law and disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@get-signed.com and we will try to put it right.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of your local law and can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up.
